– MGRI and ROSGEO develop scientific cooperation with Azerbaijan

SERGO ORDZHONIKIDZE RUSSIAN STATE UNIVERSITY FOR GEOLOGICAL PROSPECTING (MGRI) and ROSGEO develop scientific cooperation with Azerbaijan.

Today, June 7th 2019,  at the site of St. Petersburg international economic forum 2019 SERGO ORDZHONIKIDZE RUSSIAN STATE UNIVERSITY FOR GEOLOGICAL PROSPECTING (MGRI), ROSGEO (Russian State Geological Holding) and Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) signed a trilateral cooperation agreement

The document will create a basis for improving cooperation between the scientific circles of Russia and Azerbaijan, the development of cooperation in the field of Geology.

The agreement was signed by:

  • Vadim Kosyanov, MGRI – rector
  • Sergey Gorkov , Rosgeo – CEO and Board Chairman
  • Ibrahim Guliyev, ANAS –  Vice President

The parties intend to develop cooperation in the field of science, education, training of highly qualified personnel for the industry, innovative technologies creation and implementation in mineral deposits prospecting and exploration.

Under the agreement, it is of interest to consider the possibility to establish a joint venture in order to implement projects in the field of geological study in subsoil, forecast fields tasks decision making and innovative digital technologies development.

“Combining the scientific and educational potential of our countries will undoubtedly be an important step towards the creation of advanced research infrastructure and the development of innovative activities in the field of exploration and subsoil use of Russia and Azerbaijan,” said rector Kosyanov.

“I am sure that international cooperation in the scientific sphere will give new incentives to solve the personnel problems of the industry and the development of domestic geological exploration,” S. Gorkov said in turn. – Therefore, we are glad that the scientific circles of Russia and the CIS are united under the Holding auspices.”
